The Steiner Saw Machine

This tractor and saw machine is custom-built to drop a 12 gauge wire 5-7 inches below ground!  Average installations aim for 1 1/2 – 3 inches below groundwith the average shovel or garden tool able to reach 2 to 3 inches with little problem, causing wire breakage.  We saw this 20 years ago and built the saw machine attachment for our tractor.  Designed for easy burial while moving through small rocks and roots rather than going over them, the saw machine attachment is ideal for less rocky soil.  We designed the attachment to be able to bury wire within a few inches of fences and other barriers where other installers can’t get.  The blade opens the soil, the burying mechanism installs the wire, and the large turf tires close the cut in the grass after the wire gets buried, leaving very little trace of the installation.  Many of our installations can be accomplished with this machine, but when other circumstances require different methods, we have developed machines for each situation.

The Vibratory Machine

If you have excessively rocky soil, the Vibratory Machine is the answer to your installation problems.  We designed this attachment to move rocks to the sides while burying the wire deeply enough to ensure its safety.   While most installation companies simply bury the wire above the rock, we’re able to protect the wire by going deeper into the ground.   With our Vibratory Machine, you can rest easy knowing that your pet and your fence will be safe from wire breaks.   In addition, our uniquely designed attachment allows us to bury wire much closer to barriers than our competitors.

Driveway Drill

Brand new driveway? Don’t cut it up – we can tunnel under! No cuts equals zero driveway maintenance!

Drilling driveways on the farm is always fun. Even in the heat of summer with temperatures in the 100’s, we drill under driveways to save it from future service calls. Long driveways heat up and cool down constantly causing stress that can pull a driveway cut apart over time. Drilling under causes little or no stress, thus the driveway stays intact and the wire never surfaces to be cut by lawnmowers or snowplows.  Take a look here.

Don’t cut the driveway

This is what can happen when your driveway gets cut.  Water gets in and freezes, widening the gap and allowing weeds to push the gap even wider

Canine Safety Wire tunnel under driveway. No cuts to driveway

We take a different approach by drilling under the driveway, which causes little or no stress, the driveway stays intact and the wire never surfaces and won't be cut by lawnmowers or snowplows.

Cockshut 40 Wire Puller

These are our specially designed tractors to bury the wire 10″ to 15″ deep in cases where deeper burial is needed! We like the Cockshutt because it has a low gear, wide tires, and is very reliable. All these features translate into an installation which keeps the ground from becoming torn up, leaving very little trace of an installation.  If you have a farm or a property where deeper burial is needed, the Cockshutt is up to the task!

The Walking Bar

Canine Safety Systems has created many custom-made hand tools that bury fast and deep in all kinds of terrain. Many lawns have delicate flowerbeds and other difficult areas to bury the loop wire. Not all of these areas can be reached by a burying machine. Hand burying with a flat spade shovel can work, but the proper depth is usually sacrificed because of the time and effort it takes to place the wire in the slit by hand.

Stapling the wire down with landscaping staples in these areas is not very reliable either, because the staples will always raise up over the winter months, along with the wire, causing costly wire damage in the spring.

So, to solve these problems we have designed our “Walking Bar” which lays the wire 3 to 9 inches deep, while closing the trench slit as we walk behind it. It is fast, clean, deep, and uses no clumsy machines to mangle flowerbeds or topple down embankments. The “Walking Bar” makes it easy for us to bury the loop wire in garden loops faster, cleaner and deeper than ever before, resulting in a drastic reduction in wire breaks in the spring
